Teeth implants are commonly referred to as artificial teeth, and thus people often use ‘teeth implants ’ and 'dental implants' synonymously. Yet implants are actually just artificial roots. Made of titanium, these teeth implants are screwed into the bone, and as time passes, the bone fuses to the implant. The resulting stable foundation may then be restored with a crown, bridge or denture, and the final structure then looks like an implanted tooth.
As the closest replacement for natural teeth available, implants provide excellent function as well as appearance. The implant is placed during a brief operation usually requiring only local anaesthetic. Teeth implants are an ideal option for non-smoking patients in good general health, who have good oral hygiene.
At Harley Street Dental Clinic, we can offer you the full range of implant treatment from replacement of a single tooth to a complete dentition and smile make-over. Our team of dental implantologists, Mr. Stephen Dover, Dr. Pedja Pavlovic and Dr Charlotte Stilwell, are all Fellows of the International Team of Implantology and has extensive experience in implant treatment.
