Jean Claude Violides graduated in 1986 from the Lebanese University after having completed one year of internship at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium. He then worked in his private practice and had a teaching position at the Lebanese University in the Diagnostic and Treatment Planning Department.
He has traveled in some parts of the world which gave him some degree of exposure to diverse cultures as well as to different dental and medical pathologies. He had a teaching position in Bangkok, Thailand at the Rama Thibodi Hospital. He later came to London as a Clinical Assistant at the Royal London Hospital, Accident & Emergency Department, and sat for the IQE examination to qualify for private practice in the UK.
He owes this diversified and exciting life to his wife who is a diplomat and his success in the very tough IQE to the inspiration from his two wonderful boys to whom he keeps telling “where is the will, is the way”.
He shows particular interest in Oral Pathology and Cosmetic Dentistry to which he is preparing for an MSc.
He speaks fluent English, Arabic and French as well as fair Italian. Apart from basketball, tennis and skiing, he considers dentistry to be a hobby as well as a profession and he considers it as an art. French used to call it “Art Dentaire”, meaning Dental Art. He also regards Dentistry as a team’s work involving all the dental team with the most important partner: the patient.
