Invisible Braces in Harley StreetSo, what are invisible braces in Harley Street? And how do they work? That’s what we aim to answer now.

More than one kind

Invisible braces refer to a range of different braces, some fixed, some removable, which are all discreet in their design so that your teeth can be straightened without anyone else, other than your dentist, knowing about it. Two popular kinds of invisible braces in Harley Street that we provide are Invisalign and Incognito.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses a series of clear, plastic aligners carefully designed to fit over your teeth. Each aligner is worn for 7-10 days before you move onto the next in the series. The aligners have pressure points within them that push your teeth into alignment. Removable in nature, Invisalign clear aligners are taken out whenever you eat, drink anything other than plain water, brush or floss. Aligners must be worn for 20-22 hours a day for the treatment to be effective and run to schedule, with treatments completing in on average 12 months. Invisalign can resolve mild to moderate misalignments.

How does Incognito work?

Incognito is a fixed braces treatment, using the traditional mechanics of brackets and wires. But unlike traditional fixed, metal braces they are attached to the backs of the teeth where they are completely hidden from view. This means that each bracket must be custom-made to fit to a specific tooth. Incognito can handle the complete range of misalignments, including more severe cases that cannot be treated using Invisalign.
